The University Of Georgia S Center For Food Safety Uga Center For The university of georgia founded the center for food safety (cfs) in 1992 to promote food safety and its role in protecting the agricultural system. since that time, cfs has been a leader of multidisciplinary, innovative research to improve the safety of food. The center for food safety (cfs) was established in april 1993 with a mission of maintaining and improving the safety of foods through the development of methods that detect, control, or eliminate pathogenic microorganisms or their toxins. Since its founding in 1992, the uga center for food safety (cfs) has worked vigilantly against outbreaks through research into prevention, detection and control of pathogens. This graduate program focuses on the application of science and engineering in properly selecting, preparing, processing, preserving, packaging, distributing and consuming foods.
