The Other Foundation Giveout The foundation aims to shift power and narrative within the lgbtqi movement in southern africa by centring local expertise and community led efforts. It is a community support campaign in which friends and supporters of the other foundation host personal, intimate and special pledging dinners in their homes, with our support, and get their friends to sign up to give regular donations to good projects.
The Other Foundation Giveout They invite applications for grants from individuals or organizations in thirteen eligible southern african countries to support work that advances or defends the freedom, equality, and social inclusion of homosexual and bisexual women and men, and transgender and intersex people. Through these relationships, trust, and growing solidarity, the other foundation hopes to unite all people who are marginalized—or “other”—and advance human rights and social inclusion across southern africa for lgbti people and beyond. Giveout launched the lgbtqi climate fund in 2021, to support activist organisations working at the intersection of climate change and lgbtqi human rights. The other ones foundation (toof) is an austin based nonprofit working to end homelessness through low barrier shelter, workforce development, and pathways to housing.
