The Courtyard Project On Behance Perforated brick walls, courtyards and arcades are intended to imitate the bylanes of an indian city at the street, a community clubhouse in pune, india, designed by local practice studio vdga. With limited outdoor space allocated to the house, the client requested that the courtyard offer multiple gathering spaces, including conversation seating, outdoor dining, and a private area for tête à tête conversations, while also feeling lush and providing attractive views from inside looking out. From the auto court, a brick landscape wall guides visitors to a covered porch screened by a full height brick lattice wall. this structure is laced with thin, exposed steel columns that create a peekaboo effect, and detailed with horizontal limestone courses that alternate in length as they rise. Located in an area susceptible to controlled seasonal flooding, the school's architecture is carefully planned to ensure both resilience and adaptability. the design centers around a spacious courtyard, with classrooms arranged to create shaded, multifunctional areas across two levels.
