In this talk, he will examine the colonial political, legal, and administrative structures that persist today, and explore how colonial knowledge continues to shape postcolonial state. This collection is our attempt to revisit the impact of colonialism on the postcolonial politics and decolonial developments in africa; our focus is to reinvestigate the endurance and efficacy of the power relations devised and propagated by the european colonial project and their continued presence in african states and societies. Today, the world is different. in theory at least, nation states rather than empires and colonies are the global norm. the sorts of colonial conquests that mark earlier centuries appear to have ended. but does this mean colonialism in the past is not relevant for the present?.

The second theme relates to an exposition of each case’s colonial legacies and their afterlives in various conflict narratives and experiences of marginalization. the chapter also touches on how the different conflict narratives inform reductive approaches to religion and peacebuilding practices. The opening chapter, “modernity, colonial ism, and postcolonial critique,” introduces the link between modernity and colonialism, shedding light on overlooked colonial aspects in traditional sociological narratives.
