Sustainable Recreation Rfov Rfov wants to ensure that everyone, now and in the future, can have an enriching experience outdoors. that’s the goal of our sustainable recreation programming: to maintain enjoyable trails and beautiful landscapes. From independence pass to rifle and from marble to glenwood canyon, the rfov have employed staff, students and volunteers for work on sustainable recreation, healthy landscapes and fire mitigation and restoration.
Sustainable Recreation Rfov Rfov is a local stewardship organization that works in partnership with public land managers to identify needs for restoration and maintenance work at popular sites including hiking and biking trails and other natural land attractions such as environmental education sites and ranches. Rfov’s programs are designed to keep our valley’s landscapes healthy, fire adapted, and ready for everyone to enjoy. through hands on stewardship, habitat restoration, fuels reduction, and thoughtful trail work, we help create resilient ecosystems and sustainable recreation opportunities. Rfov also has its usual full menu of volunteer projects this year. volunteers will have ample opportunities to participate in projects designed to create sustainable recreation through trail maintenance, restoration to promote healthy landscapes and fire adaptation in pre and post fire areas. Rfov promotes stewardship of public lands by engaging the community in education, restoration and conservation projects across the roaring fork valley and as far down the road as rifle. With more than 10,000 agencies across the united states, parks and recreation has the potential to implement community wide sustainability measures that improve the environment while promoting human and ecosystem health — which could lead to cost savings.
