Supporting Vision The Role Of The Eye Care Foundation In Lo Ppds Born out of the need to help provide and establish good and affordable eye care in developing countries, eye care foundation is completely focused on helping those for whom good medical care is inaccessible or unaffordable to prevent and cure avoidable blindness and visual impairment. Vision and eye care remain a major global challenge, with the who reporting that at least 2.2 billion people worldwide are navigating near or distance vision impairment.

Ppds supports the eye care foundation, together with sister organisations, tp vision, mmd monitors and displays, and aoc, as a part of its tpv cares program. so, when the opportunity to further this support with philips professional displays was presented, the team were quick to respond. Teams from ppds, tp vision, mmd monitors and displays and aoc joined 35,000 participants in this year’s dam tot damloop, raising funds for the eye care foundation as part of the companies’ tpv cares initiative. the 10 mile race, held sept. 21, started in amsterdam and finished in zaandam. To date, the eye care foundation has helped provide over 7,484,000 eye screenings to people worldwide, along with more than 805,400 eye surgeries and over 63,000 pairs of eyeglasses.
