Stephen Lewis Project Colors The stephen lewis foundation is mandated to partner with organizations run by and for their own communities. these organizations support children orphaned by aids, women, including grandmothers, and children in their care, lgbtiq communities and people living with hiv across 14 countries in africa. The stephen lewis foundation is a feminist organization rooted in the principles of anti colonialism and anti racism. our values reflect how these principles are expressed in our work, and in our relationships with partners, donors and supporters. University archives and special collections has been working with lewis and the boston public library to digitize the posters and make them available through our digital collections portal. new posters are added on a regular basis. note: this collection contains some graphic images and language. From his campaign to galvanize global action on hiv aids in africa to addressing the genocide in rwanda through his work with the united nations, the stephen lewis archive offers valuable insight into some of the world’s most pressing social and global health issues. Stephen lewis stands as a beacon of hope and resilience in a world often characterized by inequality and suffering. through his multifaceted career—as a politician, diplomat, and activist—he has championed numerous causes and uplifted countless lives. In 2003, ilana landsberg lewis joined with her father, stephen lewis, to establish a foundation that would work directly with grassroots organizations in sub saharan africa in their struggle to turn the tide of aids.
