Standard Caps The cap is used to seal an open end of the pipe. in piping engineering, the cap made in accordance with asme b16.9 will be welded to the end and need not be included in the length dimension of the run of pipe. Heads din asme standard 60,3 13.500 mm asme sa 387 gr.11, gr.12, gr.91 wall thickness (s): 3 – 250 mm. Butt weld caps are used to close pipes, and are similar to those used for constructing vessels.
