Srdc works with community leaders and organizations to assess the impact of racism and discrimination on racialized peoples, and to develop and test policy and programming that addresses these barriers and supports community empowerment, health and economic equity. We provide economic development assistance to businesses, local units of government, and communities within our region. The srdc is one of the nation’s four regional rural development centers (rrdcs) established under the rural development act of 1972 which we acknowledged the 50th anniversary for in 2022 through a variety of activities, including numerous proclamations.
