Srdc Community Srdc works with diverse communities to develop research and evaluate initiatives that help leaders improve their ability to provide a sense of place, resources, and opportunities for their community members. Heirs’ property is a significant cause of land loss. to address this concern, a team of leading educators in the field have designed a three part training program to help community members take action to protect their lands. Srdc works with community leaders and organizations to assess the impact of racism and discrimination on racialized peoples, and to develop and test policy and programming that addresses these barriers and supports community empowerment, health and economic equity. We provide economic development assistance to businesses, local units of government, and communities within our region. The srdc is one of the nation’s four regional rural development centers (rrdcs) established under the rural development act of 1972 which we acknowledged the 50th anniversary for in 2022 through a variety of activities, including numerous proclamations.
