To solve this challenge, we propose a software based solution inspired by existing solar energy smart sorting boxes. the proposed model aims to classify dry and wet waste using image processing, it also improves the accuracy using deep learning techniques. The main objective of the present study is to develop an automated recognition system that is capable to recognise various items in the solid waste stream using a combination of image processing and artificial intelligence techniques based on both single and multiple objects images. To improve the efficiency and accuracy of waste classification processing, this paper proposes a densenet169 waste image classification model based on transfer learning. We propose an image recognition application to tackle the detection and classification problem of prop erly and eficiently sorting different types of waste. we pro pose 2 novel approaches which combines existing models and approaches(cnn with softmax svm).
