Solid Engine Mounts Engine Ratsun Forums Solid mounts would totally restrict any engine movement from engine torque. under severe horsepower or repeated clutch dumps with severe drive line shocks, the rubber isolators could tear out, but not right away. I've also got solid gearbox mounts, again, no problem just a sharper selector feel. i'm going to be making new mount arms that eradicate the "bush" all together as it's stronger and gives more room up top of the engine etc.

Solid Engine Mounts Engine Ratsun Forums I am in the process of building my third track only car with solid mounts. i have never had an issue, but i am not really thinking about personal comfort when i am racing. Let's talk about engine mounts. for a while now i've been pondering a few questions about engine mounts and was hoping reddit can help me better understand them. what determines the shape of the mount? the most common type is round with a sleeve in the middle. Isn't it a sign that the engine moves too much, or, looking at it differently, that the engine makes more torque than the engine mount can support? some people use a strap on the driver side of the engine to limit its movement, should you look into this?. Motor mounts shoul dbe in shear, so that if the rubber (or urethane) breaks, the engine is still held in place. stock motor mounts aren't always this way, but they do usually have a lip on them that will help.

An easy and very cheap way to make solid mounts is to buy glue sticks for the hot glue gun, tape off one side of the mounts, use a butane or propane torch and drip the melted glue into the open end of the mount, fill it up to the top and let them sit overnight and you will have solid mounts. Engine if you don't know what this is, you probably shouldn't work on a car (or drive it even). Im been looking for high performance engine mounts for my 510 track car. anyone have a source? cheers. i have never seen poly or other type of mounts in the stock style. my race car uses stock rubber mounts. i did replace one last year because it was starting to crack. not sure how long they have been in use as i have had the car only three years. Engine if you don't know what this is, you probably shouldn't work on a car (or drive it even).
