Slightly Loping Idle Subaru Outback Forums Hi all. my car has begun a "slightly loping idle" and i can't quite pin down why. what would you first clean check to remedy this?. There are numerous posts about vehicles deveoping this odd vibration when stopped in drive after replacing axle half shafts with aftermarket units. the proper idle speed range should be listed on an underhood sticker. that is not odd.

Idle Revs Subaru Outback Forums I've got a 6mt base model 2012 outback 2.5i with about 6,500 miles on it and absurdly low idle. i know subaru is trying to make these things extra fuel efficient, but i'm curious whether anyone else is experiencing any of these symptoms: idle ~700 rpm, entire car vibrates while sitting at a light. Don’t remember how to do it off the top of my head but it’s pretty simple. hi everyone, i have a 2007 subaru outback 4 cylinder manual transmission. lately the rpms at idle fluctuate and drop so low that the engine dies completely. this only happens after the car has been driven and warms up. Spraying brake clean around the intake vacuum hoses can reveal a leak. the idle will change drastically then return to normal. a little hard to do if it's hunting. make sure everything is hooked up and do an extensive visual. The two originals seemed about the same, giving a loping idle and random jumps to 3krpm but the replacement part was even worse. tried cleaning all but some of them got even worse.

With a frequently dead battery, the idle relearn would be a good place to start, especially on an automatic. otherwise, you can test for air leaks with a propane torch, non ignited. On a cold start, the idle rpm seems to be directly related to my calling for warm air in the form of blower settings and even the heated seats. this morning i started up, backed right out of the garage, put in park and it was running at a standard lower rpm.
