The purpose of the annual museum survey is to gather evidence to help demonstrate the social and economic importance of museums to funders and stakeholders – locally, regionally and nationally and to provide museums with data to enable them to benchmark their performance. In this report we present data collected by our member museums between july 2024 and june 2025 to provide insights about broad trends in museum visitors. because the data were collected using a common method and survey instrument, they can be combined—or aggregated—together. The conference is organized by icom international committee for museums and collections of archaeology and history (the icmah), in cooperation with international committee for regional museums (icr), and international committee for disaster resilient museums (drmc). Whether your institution is a small historic site under renovation, a medium sized museum planning an expansion, or a large museum building a new collections facility, this symposium is for you!.
