A look at the classic cooperative hidden role boardgame shadows over camelot. one of the best co op games i've played and responsible for building a genre. Shadows over camelot is another classic in my collection, and i am really glad to still own it. when someone asks for a game to introduce people to a surprising mechanic or something different, i always have this in mind. Shadows over camelot is not particularly deep, is easy to teach and learn, and is very forgiving of inexperienced players. the game is definitely better with the traitor in play. It was one of the first co op games and one of the first games to use a traitor role. its inspired other great games such as battlestar galactica, dead of winter, and pandemic. Shadows over camelot is thus far the best and most enjoyable new game that i've played this year. it's innovative, it's thought provoking, and it's flat out fun.
