This week’s south whidbey tilth farmers market includes a treat for whidbey gardeners. brian kenney of deep harvest farm will be teaching market goers how to save a garden’s seeds from year to year. the class is 1 p.m. on sunday, aug. 8, at the market, 2812 thompson road in langley. Brian kenney of deep harvest farm will help you take your veggie gardening to the next level as you learn the basics and benefits of saving seeds from your favorite and most productive varieties. You also help pass on the culture of seed saving, as well as providing seeds to others in the community. the seed library is located on the south whidbey tilth campus at 2812 thompson road (just off state route 525 between bayview and freeland). This informative heritage farm workshop will walk you through the basics of seed selection, seed starting, and transplanting, as well as offer tips for a successful year of gardening. With community gardens, gardening classes, a native forest restoration project, trails, a sunday farmers market, a membership & dedicated group of volunteers.
