Sector Update December 2022 Disability Advocacy Pathways The final report of the disability royal commission is due to be delivered to the australian government on 29 september 2023. this report will make recommendations to the government on how to improve laws, policies, structures and practices to promote a more inclusive and just society. It is crucial for governments, public and private sectors to collaboratively find innovative solutions for and with persons with disabilities to make the world a more accessible and equitable.

Sector Update October 2022 Disability Advocacy Pathways Guarantee a well resourced and sustainable independent disability advocacy sector that ensures people with disability can access face to face, local, and trauma informed disability advocacy. It was subsequently endorsed by unicef executive director in december 2022. this report has been developed in accordance with universal design principles to maximize accessibility. some of the links provided for resources are internal documents that are only available for circulation within unicef. While it is both impossible to craft and not useful to implement a “one size fits all” approach for national policies and strategies globally, this paper finds there are some shared broad elements that states may want to consider as they pursue their disability inclusive development agendas. For the last 12 months, cdrp in collaboration with centre for disability studies (cds), affiliated centre to the university of sydney, has led a consortium of academic and non government partners to develop a national disability research agenda, as part of the national disability research partnership (ndrp).

This roadmap is one of many ways we will communicate with disability stakeholders and will be updated regularly as decisions are made by disability ministers to ensure the community is informed.
