Reverting To Windows 10

We have three other computers, all with win7 except one with xp. Attempted windows update, failed, Initially I had over 10 updates but after trying to install them I received the 'Failure to configure updates, reverting changes' message. So I decided to install them one by one and have successfully installed them but this one is the only one left and is still failing to configure.

My windows 7 was installed by Dell and did not come with disk. have the license number only. Windows 8 keeps reverting the screen resolution!!.
