This innovative technology is the product of a collaboration between crystal cove conservancy and uc irvine’s robot ecology lab, designed to advance environmental conservation through creative, nature inspired engineering. Together, they will discuss the groundbreaking research behind raccoonbot —a solar powered, bio inspired robot now operating at crystal cove state park. His research interests include multi objective robotics and heterogeneous multi robot collaboration. outside the lab, he enjoys swimming, skating, playing basketball and video games, and has a passion for visual arts such as drawing, origami, matte painting, and key animation. Recently deployed at the crystal cove conservancy, the raccoonbot is actively sensing the surrounding environment and gathering data for experts and ecologist for analysis.
