Remember Rage Video Game Review

Rage Review

Rage Review This is my review, overview and rememberance of the game as i went back to play rage through its entireity this year. hope you guys enjoy, this took a wicked amount of time to put together. I finished rage when it was new, but besides being surprised that there was no real "big bad boss battle" climax, the main thing i recall is that rage was the showcase for the id tech 5 engine.

Rage Review Gamerevolution

Rage Review Gamerevolution Heya folks, shaun here, and i’m (finally) back with my latest review! in this one, i’m covering the 2011 first person shooter rage by id software and bethesda softworks. When rage was released in 2011, it received mostly middling reviews. some critics praised the overall combat, but many panned it for a weak story and overemphasis on vehicles. The great controls and useful weapon upgrades help make rage's shooting parts a lot of fun, but the storyline fails to create any real tension and the game's characters, friendly and hostile, never do or say anything memorable. I've played a lot of games in the past decade, yet rage has this uncanny ability to pop back into my thoughts, making me reminisce about how great it was. i've always been hesitant to revisit it, worried that nostalgia might have made it seem better in my memory than it actually was.

Having completed and really enjoyed rage 2, i was aware of the storyline and was intrigued to see where it all began. the original rage is a similar game but on a much smaller scale because of the older technology. rage opens with the depressing story that an asteroid is to hit the earth. Rage is still an id fps at its core, but it’s also an rpg complete with chatty townsfolk and plenty of items to purchase and craft. oh, and it’s a racing and car combat game as well. Some games feel as if the developers were full of neat ideas, and were prepared to work overtime to implement them, but rage feels like the kind of thing ibm might have put together if they had been contracted to make a post apocalyptic shooter with vehicle bits. It's a shame that the game doesn't leverage its enticing world to create a stronger, more compelling adventure, but it's still a joy to explore and inhabit the wasteland.
