Publications Buckley Institute Buckley program student fellows publish the student run, online blog, the beacon, featuring interviews with our guest speakers, student opinions, and reflections. "the buckley conference encouraged students to consider what it means to be challenged—consider what it means to get the most out of their yale education. should students take action, speaker after speaker pointed to a promising future: one where ideological friction in the classroom actually makes students sharper.

We hosted 69 events over the last academic year, welcoming 2,322 attendees for 157 hours of programming total. last year, we reached a new record of 623 buckley fellows on campus. In the spring semester, the buckley institute revived the beacon, buckley’s student run publication, to pro vide a platform for alternative perspectives on campus. The buckley institute is proud to present our annual report on faculty political diversity at yale. In 1951, he published his first book, god and man at yale, exposing the intellectual conformity and dogmatism of yale’s increasingly secularist, left wing climate. This year’s conference, “the future of american conservatism: buckley’s centennial and beyond,” recognizes the 100th anniversary of buckley’s birth and will highlight his lasting impact on america’s conservative movement.
