The outdoor recreation legacy partnership (orlp) program is a competitive grant initiative under the land and water conservation fund (lwcf) act, aimed at enhancing parks, recreational opportunities, and conservation areas in underserved, urban areas.
Project Partners Conservation Legacy Legislation requires a conservation partners program to encourage and support local conservation efforts. to provide matching grants for restoration, protection, and enhancement of wetlands, prairies, forest and habitat for fish, game, and wildlife. We often partner with non governmental conservation organizations on conservation projects, whether it's to conserve identified species such as the monarch butterfly or to advise on land acquisition for conservation so that it has the greatest benefit for species. All press releases, bid solicitations, statements or other documents issued describing the project should acknowledge the outdoor heritage fund primarily, and may secondarily acknowledge the department of natural resources and the conservation partners legacy grant program. Through the land and water conservation fund's outdoor recreation legacy partnership program (orlp), the national park service will invest $254.68 million dollars in local parks across the country. the money will be used for the creation of new local parks and maintenance for existing sites.
