This course introduces concepts and practice of working on real world projects involving a variety of stakeholders. the early stage student will be part of a work community with students, who study different fields. All students, regardless of grade or major, are invited to apply to projects hatchery. when applying, students are highly encouraged to come with an idea they are set on exploring. students will be conducting research pertinent to their project, so no prior research has to be done. This course provides students with opportunities to contribute and lead innovation in collaborative learning within multidisciplinary team to tackle personal or society challenge in a project setting by adapting creative and innovative process called design thinking.
Hatchery Effectiveness Salish Sea Marine Survival Project All students, regardless of grade or major, are invited to apply to projects hatchery. when applying, students are highly encouraged to come with an idea they are set on exploring. students will be conducting research pertinent to their project, so no prior research has to be done. Project hatchery mentors may be faculty, staff, or from an external source such as a private company or organization. however, each team is required to have at least one faculty mentor overseeing their project to ensure that the project is centered around education and research. Project hatchery teaches students on how practical knowledge really assesses their presentation, data analytics, marketing, and criticism handling skills that are crucial in handling a business. The entrepreneurship hatchery course is built upon the concepts taught in project hatchery where students get opportunities to explore potential business ventures while at the same time trying to develop validated products.
