Salman Avestimehr I received my ph.d. in electrical engineering and computer sciences from uc berkeley in 2008. i do research in the areas of information theory, decentralized and federated machine learning, secure and privacy preserving learning and computing. congratulations to nine recent professors from our lab! plenary at ciss 2024! congratulations to batu!. Avestimehr was promoted to a dean's professorship in electrical and computer engineering at the university of southern california, where he has taught since 2013. he is also the inaugural director of the usc amazon center for secure and trusted machine learning.
