Processing Could Not Get The Settings Folder Issue 5744 I recently installed processing 3.4 on windows 10. when i installed it, there was an error telling me to move the processing folder to a different location. i did this attempted to launch it and then a popup screen came up: i have no idea what this means, could someone please help. Anti virus software scanning your files can cause file or folder in use errors during a build or release, and builds might take longer to complete. adding anti virus exclusions for your self hosted agent directories and processes can help resolve these issues.
Processing Could Not Get The Settings Folder Issue 5744 Copy the [install dir] lib preferences.txt into ~ .processing and edit it. add the full path to wherever you want your workspace directory to be. make sure that directory exists or make it. then run processing. this appears to rewrite the preferences.txt file, but it should work from then on. If you find that the settings app in windows 10 does not launch or open, or it launches the store app instead, then this troubleshooter from microsoft will fix the problem for you. You could try using processing as a library and run your sketches as a java program. there are tutorials online about how to set it up for intellij, i think it'll be the same thing in vs code, it's not hard. If i open form the processing menu there is no problem. this problem appeared one day with apparently no reason at all and since then is present. the description of this error message is different from the message of issue #5744.

For best results: if the issue is something like “processing is broken” or “processing won't start,” then please use the forum. that type of question is usually a problem specific to your machine, and requires a troubleshooting discussion. you can also check below for common causes of such problems. write a useful title for the report. Thanks for that. i created a new preferences.txt with your settings. no change. i did notice that running b7 did not create a preferences file as the b4 did. I have been using processing 3.5.4 for a while but yesterday i decided to download processing 4.1.1. i found a couple of bugs that are mostly just really annoying. The application folders are erased and re created each time you use the export application command, so be sure to move the folder elsewhere if you do not want it to be erased with the next export.
