How Do I Play Against The Bots Now Chess Forums Chess Playing bots can be helpful, but just keep in mind computers play differently than humans, so there are some limitations. to get the most out of bot play, think of what it is you're trying to work on. Playing against bots can be discouraging and therefore demotivating, because a competent bot can beat anybody like a drum. playing against stockfish is akin to boxing against tyson. yeah, even now. tyson might not be what he used to be but he's still relatively superhuman.

I've been playing chess my whole life but only recently started taking it seriously. before hopping online i wanted to practice against the bots on chesscom and see how i did. When i try to play games here lately, i get what i call a bot for example : doe2100? is this a real person? cause i am constantly abording games cause i don't think they are real, and they keep popping up. You will get better by playing bots of increasing difficulty; however, it is more effective to play human opponents. the bots are basically full strength engines with a random error rate. Bots are one note players that randomly play completely stupid moves, which will leave you wondering what in the world they were thinking. humans have all sorts of styles, and rarely do you see a bad move that didn't seem to have any sort of idea behind it (even if the idea was flawed).
