Plaster Gauze Sculpture We cut and dipped plaster coated bandages in water before using them to mummify our sculptures. small pieces of plaster craft bandage can be wet, crumpled, sculpted and smoothed to create details. once the sculptures were finished, the students painted them with a coat of modeling paste. Students began by creating sculptures out of bottles, foil, cardboard, and other recycled materials. after this, students covered their sculptures in plaster wrap. The plaster is embedded within gauze strips which become pliable and can be molded when wet. kids can choose their critter or figure of choice and make their sculpture come to life.
