My biggest issue with brave is that the first act of the story pushed the forced marriage plot down our throats only to forget about it entirely once the bear transformation happens. it just goes nowhere. it feels like two different movies in one, and that makes the writing and pacing feel rushed and awkward. Not pixar's best, but far from their worst. i've only seen it maybe twice, but it's fun, contains some good messages about family and fate, and i love the celtic atmosphere of it all.
