Phantom Road 1 Review Lemire Launches A New Image Comics Series Review: part solemn odyssey through grief and trauma, part gory horror comic about a trucker hoofing demonic entities in the head with a crowbar, jeff lemire (sweet tooth, joker: killer smile, little monsters) returns with this supernatural series, illustrated by gabriel h. walta and jordie bellaire. In phantom road #1, we meet a truck driver named dom who has his world thrown upside down upon meeting birdie, a woman who was in a nasty car crash along the interstate. So when driver dom comes upon a terrible auto accident in the middle of nowhere in the premiere issue of phantom road, things take an interesting turn. he finds a scared survivor, birdie, along with a body and a mysterious object that transports them…somewhere.
