I wanted to know if any teams were planning on working with their alliance partners during the autonomous mode. to be more specific, here’s a scenario i’ve been thinking about. We don’t really line up for autos. our first auto move is an auto align to our first scoring position, so theoretically we could start anywhere with a straight path to our first auto position and be perfectly fine. Are we still able to choose an autonomous from our own dashboard even though the auto is being run through the fms radio? since i’m not a driver or someone allowed near the drivers during competition, i don’t know the exact process that occurs before autonomous starts. Since i’m replying first, i get to state the patently obvious: a good autonomous period is one in which the alliance scores 6 balls in the first 15 seconds, then heads toward the other side of their respective zones ready to contest possession of the balls which did not make it into a goal. Team 5549’s plan for autonomous is currently to move ourselves off of the initiation line and use the vision targets on the outer power port to shoot our pre loaded power cells into it. i think that at least for teams that can do vision, this will be a pretty common autonomous mode game plan.
