People Mechaplant Lab
People Mechaplant Lab Current and previous lab members. By combining molecular biology, live imaging, micromechanical measurement and theoretical approaches, we aim to reveal how plants utilize the external and internal mechanical inputs during morphogenesis and development decision making.
People Mechaplant Lab We welcome leong jing wen jovin and malcolm tan, two nus life sciences students to join our lab on urops projects!. Currently, long leads the aptly named mechaplant lab to study fundamental principles of plant growth and morphogenesis, combining developmental biology and biomechanics approaches on various model organisms like arabidopsis, moss, liverwort, and duckweed. Our lab is interested in the interactions between the physical and biological aspects of plant growth. by combining molecular biology, live imaging, micromechanical measurement and theoretical approaches, we aim to reveal how plants utilize the external and internal mechanical inputs during morphogenesis and development decision making. We welcome penny wong, an nus life sciences student to join our team on urops project!. Yosapol "ping" harnvanichvech moves to ku thailand, faculty position. Welcome yosapol harnvanichvech, constance le gloanec, watcharapong wimonchaijit to join our team!. Our team is vigorously testing the appropriateness of these analogies, and we use time lapse bioimaging, in vivo biomechanical measurements and simple biophysical models to capture the complex dynamics of the pressure driven growth of plant cells.
