Palaeos Time Logarithmic Time The above diagram is an example of a logarithmic timeline, which is a timeline in which each unit or degree or level is ten (or some other predetermined number) times greater or smaller than the preceding one. Geological time scale is a record of earthโ€™s history based on the organisms that lived at different times.

Palaeos Time Paleos is a highly annotated, illustrated, interactive geologic timescale. the website contains detailed descriptions of scientific terms and time periods as well as biological and geological evolution. A proposal has been made to formally define the periods of the evolution of the solar system before the earth was formed going back to approximately 5 billion years. this is added into our chart as the chaotian period. This timeline shows two scales of deep time: cosmological time, here measured in billions of years, and geological time, measured in hundreds of millions. other logarithmic scales could be shown as well. In considering the history of the earth and of deep time, we span not only millions and hundreds of millions of years, but logarithmically different increments of time as well.

Time is shown here moving from left to right. the timeline is logarithmic, with increasing size and decreasing temperature and density directly related to the expansion of the universe following the big bang. To give a sense of context, the first time increment is 6 months, which puts things in a personal frame. ten times six months is five years, ten times that is fifty. The gist is that sustainable funding to keep the lights on and advance the site is a necessity best resolved early than late. as such we're trying to find if there's enough audience for that and which avenues to take for that possible support. much obliged for your consideration. Editors found the paper detailed, nicely prepared, and offering a well reasoned discussion of what the results mean. e mail: palaios.editor@gmail . online manuscript submission.
