Overview Reaching For Rainbows Reaching for rainbows has been called the gold standard in children’s programs in prince edward county. our success has much to do with the number of years our girls have been immersed in our program. they join us when they are six and stay with us until they are twelve. After school program for young girls helps build relationships. the reaching for rainbows program began at st. andrew’s presbyterian church in picton as a way to offer a safe and nurturing space for young girls who were having a difficult time at school.
Overview Reaching For Rainbows Before you decide enroll your child in reaching for rainbows, it is important to look beyond history or scale. visiting the location, asking detailed questions, and assessing how the program aligns with your child’s needs are critical steps in making an informed choice. To date 150 girls have come through a program which is unique in canada. it features play based learning to encourage the confidence and resilience the girls need to meet life’s challenges, whether they are social, emotional, familial or economic. The reaching for rainbows child development centre is owned by allan carson and directed by danica carson. the centre was opened in february, 2003 and offers early learning and childcare programs for, up to, 54 children from birth to five years old and an after school program for up to 30 children from five to twelve years old. Reaching for rainbows offers programing for two groups of girls: the 10 12 year old girls attend on mondays and tuesdays, and the 6 9 age girls attend on wednesdays and thursdays. the program follows the school board calendar and runs afterschool from october through may.
