Outreach Long Term Memory Lab Post traumatic stress disorder (ptsd) and traumatic brain injury (tbi) are prevalent among military veterans and dramatically affect their quality of life after serving. this fund supports veterans treatment research by the cognitive neuroscience laboratory of memory led by dr. john hart. At the open house, we show children visual illusion demos, the human brain, memory experiment demos, and make our beloved brain hats. our table is popular among children who were excited about science and the brain!.

At neuro reach, we aim to build a community of neuroscience educated youth, through outreach, advocacy, and research. Now a quarter century old, the dallas based cognitive neuroscience facility has grown from a "ragtag team" to a globally significant research institute dedicated uniquely to building better brain function. here’s how it happened under chief director sandra bond chapman, phd. She joined the lab in fall 2025 to explore how memory is stored and retrieved in both healthy and clinical populations. outside the lab, she is active in campus organizations, volunteers as a medical assistant, and serves as an advocate with darrc.

Eight faculty members lead labs that range from basic science to clinical research with a focus on alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. our unique multidisciplinary team has expertise in dementia care and geriatrics, providing trainees with comprehensive clinical training. Girls in grade 4 6 got an up close look participated in a neuropsychology adventure day in which members of the uo women in graduate sciences helped them learn all about how human brains work, how they change over time, and what they look like through a brain scan. The university of new england’s center for excellence in the neurosciences has developed a successful and growing k 12 outreach program that incorporates undergraduate and graduate professional students. The study includes brief medical history assessments, memory measures, and noninvasive imaging technologies (fmri and eeg). sessions will take place at the callier center (dallas campus) at the university of texas at dallas and at ut southwestern medical center.
