Karuna project offers sustainable adventure travel and travel gear by creating long term positive impacts for people and the environment through meaningful cultural exchange, onsite local partner support, and heartfelt program facilitation.

At karuna, we believe that every person has the right to live a life free of discrimination and poverty. we work alongside the world’s most vulnerable people to overcome poverty and discrimination with locally led projects in gender equality, education, livelihoods and climate resilience.

What sets the karuna project apart is the incredible network of authentic connections they have forged with locals worldwide. these aren't just guides — they're deep, trusted bonds with people who live and breathe the culture and terrain you'll be exploring. For the past year, karuna shechen has worked to develop educational, economic and agricultural programs in the ruby valley which are designed to meet specific local challenges. Partnered in collaboration with friends of mulanje orphans (fomo) to develop a gym and football field. built a fitness and martial arts training center, including an upgrade to their previously defunct computer classroom. donated punching bags and other martial arts equipment. Karuna, a charity inspired by buddhist values, works alongside the most excluded people in south asia, overcoming poverty and discrimination with locally led projects focusing on gender equality, education and sustainable livelihoods.
