Pinewood pupils were immersed in a day of discovery for our annual whole school steam day. it was a day where science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics converged in a display of creativity, leadership and collaborative problem solving.

Pinewood school, established in 1959, is an independent, coeducational, nondenominational college preparatory day school serving grades k–12. pinewood serves a diverse student body from various cultural, religious, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, drawn from across silicon valley. Our pupils experienced the school’s victorian origins firsthand through an immersive celebration that brought history to life, offering fascinating insights into education in 1875 when pinewood first opened as a boys’ school. Founded in 1959, by gwen riches, the school began as an afternoon creative arts program. by 1964 enrollment had increased to 350 students, and the newly named creative workshop became established as a full time private school. As we celebrate the achievements of our phenomenal class of 2023, we also recognize and honor the strength, resilience, and determination of these exceptional young minds who have undoubtedly left.
