We also examined how stakeholders affiliated with different institutions perceive the importance of public involvement in decision making related to nuclear energy. Significant progress was made over the three day workshop through discussion on how to create a generic framework for optimising decisions in the nuclear sector, highlighting a number of areas for further consideration. This paper demonstrates opportunity for public engagement surrounding nuclear science, nuclear power production, and radiation, within the complex problems of climate change and achieving net zero emissions by 2050. The nea invites submissions of case studies that highlight experiences in stakeholder engagement within the nuclear sector. this call seeks real world examples of effective engagement strategies, challenges encountered and lessons learnt in fostering transparency, trust and inclusivity.
