Training on such technology requires accessible hardware, which this work addresses by proposing a modular, flexible controller designed for integration with both open source and proprietary systems used in modern factories.

Open Modular Controller As part of the omac forum, an effort was undertaken to define an open, modular architecture controller specification based on application programming interfaces (api). This work proposes the development of a controller, with modularity and flexibility as the core ideas, that allows for the integration of open source standards like the proprietary technologies used in emergent factories and automation technologies. Osec architecture (open system environment for controller) group seeks to create an open architecture based on a standard personal microcomputer pc to control manufacturing equipment, to improve its performance, and to facilitate its maintenance. In this work we propose a modular architecture with control primitives (macop) which uses a set of controllers, where each controller becomes specialized in a subregion of its joint and task space.

In this work we propose a modular architecture with control primitives (macop) which uses a set of controllers, where each controller becomes specialized in a subregion of its joint and task space. The new open and modular controller architecture seamlessly integrates different drive and sensor technologies, software, and communication standards. The implementation of this architecture led to the development of a prototype modular industrial controller that is, on average, a quarter of the cost of the new generation of industrial controllers. the developed controller was tested and validated using some educational kits. Open control systems are the key enabler for the realization of modular and re configurable manufacturing systems. the large number of special purpose machines and the high level of automation have led to an increasing importance of open control systems based on vendor neutral standards. Scaleability of a control system allows control modules to be added or removed from the control system and provides appropriate control capability to match application needs.
