Nature’s best photography magazine is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s ocean views photography contest! selected from more than 10,000 images, 29 photos have been selected as winners and highly honored.

Ocean In View September 2010 Ocean acidification video there is an excellent short video from oregon public broadcasting on ocean acidification, filmed in part on tatoosh island on the makah reservation. Nature’s best photography magazine is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s ocean views photography contest! selected from more than 10,000 images, 29 photos have been selected as winners and highly honored. One night, the boat’s captain, jim abernethy, spotted a small group of them riding the bow. we stopped the engines, turned on the floodlights, and got in the water. using manual focus and a light. Viewed from space, the most striking feature of our planet is the water. in liquid and frozen form, it covers 75% of the earth's surface. altogether, the earth's water content is about 1.39bn. I feel pretty good about what i produced in 2010. so in true shameless promotional fashion, here are my personal favorites, in no particular order. these are not necessarily the images that i feel will sell best (although i hope they do well in that regard!). Water expands as it warms and so warm areas of the ocean are higher than cool areas. the blue area across centre is indicative of a la nina event. la nina effects weather systems across the world. in december it caused catastrophic floods in australia, sri lanka and brazil, and drought in argentina.
