O T Cuhk Dr. wong wing yee clara, clinical associate professor (honorary), department of orthopaedics and traumatology, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on 26 february 2026. Our orthopaedics & traumatology department aims to provide quality and sub specialty based clinical service to patients, and is operated by a team of specialists, nurses, physiotherapist, occupational therapists and allied health care workers.

Our orthopaedic learning centre, opened in 1999, has organized a variety of courses and workshops over the years for more than 8,000 professionals. Two research centres are established to facilitate bench to bed translational research, knowledge transfer and community services. apart from phd and mphil programmes, we also organize a number of master of science degree courses and professional workshops. Throughout the past decade we have seen significant changes in undergraduate teaching, including organization, content, quality assurance, assessment as well as the use of information technology in teaching and learning. Under the sports medicine and regenerative technology (smart) flagship program since dec 2008, our research laboratory focuses on injury prevention, risk assessment and return to play of sports injury, particular in knee acl injury, thigh hamstring strain and shoulder rotator cuff injury.
