In nuke 12.2, we introduced native support for reading usd in nuke, giving artists the ability to read geometry in usd data using nuke’s readgeo node and enabling more studios to start experimenting with usd. Note: nuke currently supports .usd and .usda files and can display color, normals, and uv information in the viewer. 1. click image > read or press r on the node graph. the read file (s) dialog displays. 2. select the .usd file you want to import from the file location, then click open. You can import meshes, point clouds, lights, cameras and axes from usd files (.usd file format) into a nuke scene. during the import, you can control which items in the usd scene are loaded using the import dialog. Developer notes as nuke develops, we sometimes have to make changes to the api and abi under the hood. we try to keep these changes to a minimum and only for certain releases, but from time to time api and abi compatibility is not guaranteed.
