Launched in 1986, the annapurna conservation area project (acap) is the largest undertaking of ntnc. it is also the first conservation area and largest protected area in nepal. it covers an area of 7,629 sq. km. and is home to over 100,000 residents of different cultural and linguistic groups. Wwf nepal has been supporting to the government and the communities in addressing conservation challenges in national conservation priority areas of the government since its work in nepal. the site based ncpa are identified jointly by wwf and the nepal ministry of forests and environment.

Nepal Conservation Strategy Fund Launched in 1986, the annapurna conservation area project (acap) is the largest undertaking of ntnc. it is also the first conservation area and largest protected area in nepal. it covers an area of 7,629 sq. km. and is home to over 100,000 residents of different cultural and linguistic groups. Wwf nepal has been supporting to the government and the communities in addressing conservation challenges in national conservation priority areas of the government since its work in nepal. the site based ncpa are identified jointly by wwf and the nepal ministry of forests and environment. Based on the concept of conservation that is evolving at international level and the commitment articulated by the member states of the various conventions in relation to it, conservation campaigns have also taken off in nepal and the country has translated its commitment to conservation in action. Strategies for achieving conservation of biodiversity in the sea have been proposed by norse & gerber (1993) for global issues, hiscock (1997) for the northeast atlantic, and john (1994) for. Ecologically functional landscape. this second strategy and action plan prepared by the ministry of forests and soil conservation will continue to guide conservation in the tal from 2015 to 2025 by addressing persisting and emerging threats to ensure socio ecological integrity of the tal. Our continuous efort towards species conservation aims at conserving keystone species with greater focus on undertaking research of less studied species and formulating conservation plans to facilitate the government of nepal’s (gon) conservation initiatives.
