My 1923 Foursquare
My 1923 Foursquare Here are some before and after photos of the first floor renovations between the day i bought the house, and just after i finished the floors. these are just a few random photos i was able to match up with an old and new image. there aren't many that show the hallway or front door. I like to try different holiday decor every year on my family room french country armoire, but this time i kept a new grouping of a chinoiserie ceramic planter and jars there that i have been enjoying. some evergreen, iridescent balls and preserved eucalyptus give it a warm holiday touch.
My 1923 Foursquare If you follow me on ig, you might have seen my stories on the day that i started ripping apart this settee. i had no idea where i was headed with this piece, nor how much work it would be to complete. This french ballon shade valance is in my guest bedroom, and the linen fabric is the hollyhock pattern from lee jofa fabrics. i always order my clients' window treatments from my drapery workroom, but for my farmhouse i decided to sew them and i enjoyed teaching myself. I ripped up the hideous grey tile in my front hall, and laid down some birch to match the original flooring in the other rooms. i also installed the transition boards in the door frames to tie in the old and new. It's been quite a while now, so i can't remember for sure if i saw the edgewater pad before i bought my house, or shortly after, but this chicago "two flat" became the inspiration for my home. nothing really fancy, mainly just white trim, wood floors, and neutral colours on the walls.

Finally, after living in my apartment for six months, my living room gallery wall is up and running. it took me a while to figure out how i wanted to display my artwork and which pieces i wanted to feature, but now that everything is hung, i’m happy with the results. My mom thought i was nuts for buying this house. just crazy. but out of all the ones i looked at in my price range, this one was hands down the nicest, largest, and the one with the most potential. i actually had some of the before photos developed so that i can show guests. the bathroom was by far the grossest room. delete replies reply. The juxtaposition of an abstract painting in a traditional room setting is something i enjoy. i have a few more abstract paintings in my farmhouse in other rooms as well. what kind of pictures do you like in your bedrooms?.
