Twu's division of multicultural women’s and gender studies is unique in texas: we are the only program in the state to offer undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees, making mwgs students part of a rich and vibrant community.

Mcwh increases migrant and refugee women’s opportunities for health and wellbeing in australia through bilingual health education, advocacy and leadership. mcwh also delivers training and capacity building for workers and workforces and coordinates a multilingual health information library. With information and assistance in nineteen languages, it is still the only multilingual program in australia that takes women’s health education into the workplace. At mcwh we believe that every person has the right to clear, accurate and relevant information about their health. that's why over 45 years ago we developed our free health education program to share health information directly with migrant and refugee women in their preferred language.

The ‘let’s talk mental health’ project supports better mental health and wellbeing for migrant and refugee women. led by multicultural centre for women’s health (mcwh), the project delivered in language community mental health education programs to communities across the state. Alia multicultural hosted the health information for multicultural communities webinar on august 25 th. with more than 7 million people reporting that they were born overseas in the 2021 census and 5.8 million people using a language other than english at home this was a timely event.
