Founded in 2010, the organization matches students with community mentors who provide guidance, support, and encouragement. the program emphasizes long term relationships, helping students build self advocacy skills and gain exposure to broader opportunities. We pair 8th 12th graders with a 1:1 mentor from our community. mentors commit to seeing their mentee 1 2 hours per month for at least 1 year. matches are made based on interests, personalities, careers, hobbies, etc. to ensure a good fit. we provide support and training. Mfl is organized to mentor seventh through twelfth grade students in marietta city schools a system in which two thirds of the students live in poverty. the goal is that every mfl student graduates prepared for the path to achieve their life goals and become leaders in their community.
