Measuring Impedance Virtually Hackaday That’s the topic of his latest video series: measuring impedance with ltspice. of course, he also does his usual thorough job of mapping the virtual world to the real one. By converting impedance into frequency, the problem becomes something a microcontroller handles naturally. the oscillator runs in class a phase shift mode, allowing stable observation of lc resonance. instead of fighting oscillator errors, i focused on differential measurements.

Impedance Measurement Hackaday We always enjoy a [fesz] video and we wonder if the “z” stands for impedance? that’s the topic of his latest video series: measuring impedance with ltspice. of course, he also does his usual thorough job of mapping the virtual world to the real one. you can see the video below. it is simple enough. impedance is very similar to resistance. Hackaday serves up fresh hacks every day from around the internet. read the latest articles from hackaday and all things of interest to hardware hackers, designers, and engineers. That’s the topic of his latest video series: measuring impedance with ltspice. of course, he also does his usual thorough job of mapping the virtual world to the real one. What fascinated me is not absolute accuracy, but how naturally this circuit maps an analog impedance problem into a frequency domain that a microcontroller can handle very well.

What fascinated me is not absolute accuracy, but how naturally this circuit maps an analog impedance problem into a frequency domain that a microcontroller can handle very well. It's a vector network analyzer after all. so i ran a direct comparison using the same set of sample inductors across three methods: lc meter v2.4, lc meter v8, and nanovna with a 50Ω adapter (s11 measurement). By measuring the impedance of such a power distribution network (pdn) across frequency, he could then calculate its performance under different circumstances. The video covers the basic impedance only smith chart, as well as a full color smith chart which indicates both impedance and admittance. Main goal of this project was to create very small and cheap lcr meter to measure small impedances below 100 ohm with test voltage low enough (0.25 vamp) so it wont trigger in circuit diodes.
