Mapbase Mapbase is a platform for half life 2 level designers to make better maps and have a more comfortable experience designing them. it also serves as a modding base for larger sourcemods, featuring. Mapbase v8.0 is the first "major" update since mapbase v7.0 nearly 3 years ago. while it isn't as packed as v7.0 was, v8.0 represents a cutoff point for save compatibility with v7.0 v7.3, allowing it to have a more advanced feature set that doesn't need to maintain existing saves.
