Game is rather sandbox for character creation, so it is entirely possible that your character build simply can't survive the starting area. that said, most concepts will work, even if your build doesn't. If that seems too hard or doesn't work in arcanum, then suggest me something from the top of your head. also, i hope you don't mind me asking too many questions, but what are the advantages and disadvantages of engineering (that's what i think it's called) and magic.
