Lost My Hair To Chemo But Now I Wish I Shaved My Head Years Ago
Lost My Hair To Chemo But Now I Wish I Shaved My Head Years Ago I just had my second treatment of ac chemo on tuesday and that's exactly when my hair started falling out. it's thin to start with so i knew it'd look horrible and unsalvageable as it shed. and by the next day, clumps were coming out if i just touched my hair. I eventually asked my son to shave my hair off and it was a relief to take control. i didn’t cold cap and managed to keep my hair during chemo which really impressed the nurses.
Shaved My Head After Losing My Hair To Illness Realised I Had Curly After i shaved my head, i didn’t recognize myself in the mirror. i couldn’t believe that my hair was all gone. i bought so many different scarves and hats, but nothing truly helped to make me feel comfortable or beautiful. i contemplated getting a wig, but i knew it wasn’t for me. My head shaving party wasn’t the end of my journey, but it closed a meaningful chapter, marking the divide between who i was before chemo and who i was becoming. I decided that i don’t care if my hair ever grows back. i’ve been buzzing it for a year (my chemo significantly thinned my hair but it didn’t all fall out). i think i need to get the shaver you use. right now my hubby uses clippers with a guard to buzz my hair, but i think your shaver would be easier for me to use. (and btw you always look amazing. i love your style!) like reply. If you’re about to start chemotherapy, you might be worried about losing your hair. this will not always happen but it can help to think about how you will cope if it does.
