Led Sailboat Aqua Living There was one existing mast light about halfway up the mast on our forty year old boat. we made two aluminum brackets from flat stock scrap we had on hand, purchased two led lights and a dimmer switch so we could adjust the brightness. Hello, i am looking for installing lightings to improve visibility and enjoyment of sailing, or chilling at dock at night. it seemed that there are more people installing led lights on deck rather on spreaders, practically is there any pro cons of each?.

Led Lighting Sailboat Owners Forums Recently i upgraded all my old incandescent fixtures to led and added some under cabinet led light bars and now it looks awesome in the cabin. these are totally adjustable and have three color modes. Has anyone out there ever mounted through hull or surface mounted led lights on their rig? if so, is this a do it yourself type project or do you need a marine shop to do it for you?. I ordered new navigation lights to replace the melted plastic lens on the original lights. the replacements came with the standard incandescent bulbs, but i order led bulbs to replace those. I'm very keen to learn if the light output is adequate when changed from halogen to led and if so what is the minimum watt required. also am keen to know if they produce too much glare. I am replacing the reading light fixture in the aft cabin which was a casualty of last season's boating. it took me a while but found the replacement part and then the lamp on sailorsams website. during the process i noted there was an option to choose a led bulb for slightly more i did so. I am considering installing some led cabin lights. they are 12v and very efficient, however i am concerned that they will give off a weird colored light and make things look weird. does any one use this type light and do you have any filters or covers to change the look of the light?.
