Lanes Cottage Jo Alderson Phillips Theirs is a tudor cottage surrounded by glorious views of the cotswolds. the architects’ scheme added a very contemporary semi subterranean extension to this pretty tudor dolls house with lots of glass & clean lines. my clients wanted me to create a landscape design to blend it all together. This has been one of our most memorable projects and we are incredibly pleased for lanes cottage who has won the ‘best extension’ award 2019. norman and zoe carter bought a grade ii listed cottage on a two and a half acre plot which had almost become ‘derelict’.

Lanes Cottage Jo Alderson Phillips With the design by jo alderson phillips, reclaimed groynes were used together with no maintenance recycled deckboards that had a naturally weathered appearance, to create stunning seating areas and walkways. Phase 2 comprises a series of really beautiful formal courtyards around the rear & sides of the house. phase 3 is the naturally styled pond (small lake!) with a sinuous boardwalk & huge scottish boulders. glimpses of this can be seen from the drive via fabulous arches within the new mature hedge.
